Many of us cannot resist letting our pets sleep in our bedroom, especially as the nights get colder; you want to make sure they are warm and safe. But if you are like me and my pets you will find that they end up taking all the bed space up and you end up with an inch of bed to sleep on!
What you need to do is arrange your room so that your pets have a space to go. If you have a dog then it is slightly easier to follow this method as they can be trained to go to sleep where you wish them to. Cats on the other hand are a law onto themselves and will sleep where they want to sleep, however, you can try providing them with a space and they may decide that is a worthy place to rest their head.
Firstly designate a corner in your room that is not being used and can be sacrificed for your pet. If they are pets that like to be close to their owners then make that space near your bed, or else they will simply ignore the corner and creep into bed with you.
Once you have the area put their bed there. If you do not have a bed for your pet then look at some large cushions or a couple of small rugs, just so that they have a visual that they know is where they go to sleep. These are also easy to maintain as they can be washed effectively with minimal hassle. They also can be chosen to match the colour theme of your room so that they blend in nicely with the decor. Alternatively you can purchase a thin duvet from Very.co.uk and fold that up for a comfy bed.
Once the bedding is in place then entice your pet to the area. They will soon get the idea and be snuggling near you for the night rather than on you.
Furniture trends are many, but the designers and decorators from around the world seem to reach some kind of consensus. Therefore, and as your budget, let a few dollars aside to give a "new face" to your home. And as we are in time of economic crisis, even the decor of the home suffers. The tendency to repeat last year, recycling is still "at large". The watchwords are "recycle" and "reuse". Everything can be transformed and the furniture is no exception. An old couch, for example, can be transformed into a new piece to match the new look of your home. If you want family members to get rid of an old bookcase, get to work, and give new life to the "tired" mobile. With some effort, the old becomes new.
As a disappointment to those who think that a modern, minimalist design with few moving parts and straight lines is in fashion. The trend this year is to mix styles. According to interior designers, the latest trends in decorating favor harmony between classical pieces and new. An LCD system and a home theater can perfectly live with an old mobile curved lines. This creates environments and creative. Moreover, the bet is also the game of contrasts, for example, a crystal vase in a granite. And if you want to give a touch of sophistication to your home, is a good idea to bet on gold and silver tones.
A main trend in 2010 will be to integrated the home office into the main spaces. Many of the novel furniture pieces will be multipurpose: equipped with a tray to put the computer, eat and write among other things. Another trend is to incorporate within the furniture designs inventive ways to hide outlets and wires.
Bet on modular furniture. In times of crisis, buy furniture as necessary. There is nothing better than the modules. One here, one there. Tomorrow another, and within a year a couple more. They are also a good option to play with the small space of modern apartments. There is always an appropriate solution to the needs of a new home.
Finally, the choice of colors. There are tones that are fashionable, of course, but the color is always a personal choice. Therefore, the choice must be made according to our tastes. We will not choose a white car because it's fashionable to not like white cars. If you still want to follow the trends, know that the fashionable colors are gray, white, green, turquoise, lime green, dark red tones and ethnic-inspired. Avoid dark colors too, as they bring loads too negative for the home environment. Bet on bright and cheerful colors.
